Privacy policy

Controller

The controller under the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) is Verein Team85. For any data protection question, and for access, correction or deletion: hallo@team85.ch.

Our approach

We are a small association and collect as little data as we can. This website uses no tracking cookies and embeds no analytics or advertising services. That is also why there is no cookie banner. You can read team85.ch without telling us anything about yourself.

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Netlify (Netlify Inc., USA). When you open a page, Netlify processes technically necessary connection data — including your IP address, date and time, the address requested, and details of your browser and operating system. This data arises in the operation of any web server, serves delivery and abuse prevention, and is not combined by us with any other data.

This means data is disclosed to the USA. Switzerland recognises the USA as providing adequate protection for companies certified under the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the provider's standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

Fonts

We load the Poppins and Inter typefaces via Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA). Your browser fetches the font files directly from Google, which transmits your IP address to Google. Google Fonts does not set cookies in the process.

Newsletter

For our newsletter we use the service of Infomaniak (Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva) — which keeps the data in Switzerland.

We store your email address together with the time and the confirmation of your subscription. Subscription uses a double opt-in procedure: you first receive an email in which you confirm — only then are you added to the list. This documents your consent and prevents anyone else from subscribing you.

The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time: every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, we delete your address from the list.

Getting in touch

If you write to us at hallo@team85.ch, we process your message and the details it contains in order to answer it. We normally keep enquiries for two years and delete them afterwards, unless a statutory retention period applies.

Membership and sponsoring

Anyone joining the association provides us, via the membership form, with their name, address, email and chosen membership category. We process this data to keep the register of members and the accounts — the statutes require the committee to do so (Art. 14). Only the committee has access.

The data is not passed on to third parties. After membership ends we keep it for a further ten years, for as long as the accounting retention period runs. The same applies accordingly to the contact and contract data of our supporters.

Donations

Donations do not run through us: the TWINT codes, the donation links and the QR invoice on this website lead directly to the Sternschnuppe children's charity or to its payment provider RaiseNow. Your payment details and any donor data are processed there, not by us, and the foundation's privacy policy applies. All we learn about individual donations is the running total the foundation reports to us — without names.

Rally shop orders

Orders on the rally race page currently run by email to hallo@team85.ch. We process your email address and order details in order to handle the order and request payment. If card payment is reactivated, we will add the payment provider to this policy.

Videos in the travel diary

Some blog posts embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA). We use a privacy-friendly embed: before you click the video, your browser only loads the preview image from Google servers. Only when you start the video is a connection to YouTube established, giving Google your IP address and — if you are signed in there — the link to your account.

Instagram

We link to our Instagram profile but embed no Instagram content. Meta Platforms only receives data about you once you click one of those links; their privacy policy then applies. What we post on Instagram ourselves — photos and videos from our trips and work assignments — is publicly visible. If you would rather not appear in a picture, tell us and we will take it down.

Your rights

You have the right to information about the data we process about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or handed over to you. Where we process data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

A short email to hallo@team85.ch is enough. We reply within 30 days, free of charge. The president is responsible. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can turn to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Changes

We will adapt this policy when our website or our processes change. The version published here is the one that applies.
